Getting arrested is the end of your freedom. People who have violated the law in Austin will surely get arrested. This piece aims to apprise readers on the things to be done if you have your relatives, friends, and yourself get arrested and brought to Travis County Jail

The hardest parts of getting arrested are to know where they will bring you and what they will do with you. Person's liberty to roam around and to live off from routine will be curtailed. As the hands are cuffed behind, inventory search will be undertaken up to the pockets and seams of the clothing. If with car, the car, too, will be searched up to glove compartment and the trunk.  Finding some illegal stuff will mean additional charges.

The officer will take the arrested person to the central booking located in downtown Austin. Everything will be videotaped, even the yelling at the officer or the pounding of the windows of the car. These will be used as evidence of illegal things found during the search. An officer of the law will do the paperwork to include the affidavit of Probable Cause. It explains the reason why a person will be taken to jail. After which, the person will be fingerprinted and mug shots will be taken. To check if the arrested individual has other warrants, they'll run the name and print it. After couple of hours, the person will be taken to Property department where the inventory of everything she/he got on his possession, like watch, wallet and the cash in it, ring, et cetera, will be hold and sealed. He/she will then be advised to wear the striped jail clothes. The person will now be taken to his/her  jail assignment. The room will be crowded or not and looks like pods with phones at the center.

Booking of the person will take time. Relatives, friends, and even the lawyer will find hard to locate the arrested individual. Even if such person has called immediate relatives already, he/she can't be found unless the booking is through. If the person's name is not in the computer, she/she does not exist.  

Once in the cell of the Travis County Jail, things will get scarier because of unfriendly and unwelcoming faces of other inmates. There is no orientation on what to do and what to expect inside the jail. The person will come down for his first pre-trial interview where the judiciary assesses his/her capacity to pose personal bond. Series of questions will be asked and four references will be asked, as well. If he/she qualifies, a release on her own recognizance will be executed.

People who gets arrested and finds out to be on “green sheet”, which means they have serious law violations from other counties, will not qualify for a personal bond. Therefore, he/she will roll his life in Travis County Jail until proven not guilty.
